Aleen
Aleen is a sidekick character from the game "Reverie".
Description
Story
Aleen is a member of 'Au', a species that is mostly human-like bar their strange unified consciousness, which seems to flux in and out of our reality. The species has been plagued throughout their history by the species known as 'Set', which are nothing but nuisances to them but are deadly predators to members of other species.
Aleen is brought along on the Eleanor star cruiser by her father, Toleen, who is an Au soldier involved in the Set elimination initiative. Toleen used every scrap of authority and privilege he had to get her on the ship with him, fearing she would otherwise be sent to live with his ex-wife and he would lose her forever. Aleen and her father were treated with utmost luxury on the ship, a style Aleen had already been accustomed to. After her father dies whilst capturing a Set on a foreign planet, Aleen sinks into a deep depression, lashing out at those around her. The events on the Eleanor slightly before the game's beginning inspire her to be strong, realising she must now look after herself.
For the majority of the game, the protagonist Lost is led to believe that she is, in fact, Aleen, explaining her resistance to the mental attacks of the creature, Set.
At the beginning of the fourth and final chapter of the game, Lost finds Aleen locked in her room, disproving her theory.
Together Lost and Aleen make a plan to capture the creature and get to civilisation.
Personality
Aleen is everything that Lost is not: loud, emotional, whiny, vibrant and enigmatic. She often appears quite selfish, caring only for her own wellbeing, however this is conceals a soft but confused heart.
